On May 3, 1945, “Radio Digest” published information on how broadcasters were preparing for V-E Day, marking Victory in Europe. KOA Denver was one of the stations highlighted.
The surrender of Germany was imminent, but it wasn’t known exactly when it would happen. Five days later, on May 8, 1945, V-E day was celebrated. World War II would end three months later with the surrender of Japan.
