March 4th, 1925- KLZ Radio in Denver, as part of the “AT&T Network” of 21 stations nation-wide, carries President Calvin Coolidge’s Inauguration.
It’s the first radio broadcast of an Inauguration. The AT&T Network would become NBC’s Red Network the following year.
Though Franklin Delano Roosevelt was famous for his fireside chats, Calvin Coolidge was the first President to embrace radio as a viable communication tool.
