The photo is undated, but the “Denver Post Funny Papers Show” debuted in 1947 on KLZ radio, broadcasting from the Shirley Savoy Hotel. On the back of the photos is a listing of those pictured. The photo is most likely from 1950 or later.
Clayton Brace joined KLZ in 1941. He left to serve in World War II but returned to KLZ and become Program Director for KLZ TV when it signed on in 1954. He left Denver in 1963 and worked in TV in San Diego until his death in 1986 at 62.
Elliot Wager came to Denver in 1948. He fought at Metro State in the 1980s. Elliot died in January 2013.
Barbara Peters was at KLZ for eleven years, starting in 1943. She wrote a biography “Radio Actress- Romping through the 40s” about her career.
Matt McEniry joined KLZ on November 11, 1932 and worked there for ten years before leaving to join “the Remington Arms Plant.” February 1, 1950 he rejoined KLZ as Public Affairs Director.
John Connors became a TV sportscaster.
